u/ghuchusI am on isotretinoin currently. The mental peace that comes from not having painful acne all over my face outweighs any of the negative mental health effects of the medicine itself. Sunscreen is a must otherwise my face burns if I am out in the sun. One thing though, I face some acidity and take Pan D as prescribed by doctor, other than that nothing8
u/SnooGoats2271Smash next question6
u/basilsalmonshitI’m currently taking it. I’m so glad my dermat put me on it because nothing has worked for my cystic inflammatory acne. My acne wasn’t hormone induced so I was a perfect candidate for isotretinoin (according to my derm) Month 3 tomorrow. Started with 10mg for 20 days and 20mg for 40 days. I’ll start 30mg in 10 more days. I’m still breaking out although it’s wayyyyyy less intense. I had headaches for 5-6 days in the beginning but it’s been smooth sailing since then. Your post is giving me hope.6

u/ZenodorysDamn bro 🥀5
u/Working_Elevator_101Great results.  Ya man I also started it I did  20mg for 40 days,  30mg for 3 months,  Now currently doing 40mg for 4 months.  But the main issue is most docs in India prescribe you like this 5-20mg for one month then stop it and  use adapalene +benzoyl Peroxide. But isotret doesn't works if you don't take it's full cumulative dosage. Even I had to argue with my derm just to prescribe isotret full cumulative dosage. Isotretinoin is not even as bad as people think. People might drink alcohol, eat all the fried and oily stuff nd high carbs slop  for thier lifetime but still think that 1-2courses or isotret will nuke thier liver. It's insane4

u/99problemsandfewI've just started it!  I'm having a bad acne breakout rn. Did you purge as well?1
u/Mimi_lunaIt's been only two months for me (currently on 20mg for a some time) I'm not getting new acne but the dark spots are bothering me a lot 🥲 when will these go away 😭😭1
u/HypeonthecloudWhat is ur skincare routine rn , r u using the tret cream version1
u/ZenodorysCould you show us the before image of yourself with this condition?1
u/Successful_Fan_9352On my 3rd month. I’m purging really bad. This is the worst my skin has ever been i literally hate looking at the mirror. Op is there any way to help the purge?1
u/cutebutpsycho30I’m on it too, but I’m also taking Wysolone, which causes acne. So this medicine and Wysolone kind of cancel each other out 😒1
u/pskin2020Post isotretinoin...what peel and other treatments you opted for1

u/Legitimate_Matter695How did you get that jawline? Workout routine?1
u/Foreign_Sky_7903Isotretinoin does wonder to the skin. Only problem is when you have high cholesterol and that’s why I couldn’t continue with it for long1

u/summerbreeze29I'm glad it worked for you and you didn't have any side effects but the "absolutely false" part is a little much imo. Your experiences are not universal.
u/akdakd1102Your results are excellent! It is, however, not false that Isotretinoin can cause increased liver readings, mess with mental health, is not safe for pregnancy, and cause side effects to joints etc. This is well recorded and studied. That doesn’t mean it happens to everyone. Obviously if the side effects happened to everybody it would not be approved for the market. These cautionary statements exist because it is a possibility, which is why medical supervision is required. I’m glad it worked for you, and you’re feeling good about yourself!
