u/SunOverGravesIt is unethical experimentation. I am excited by science and scientific discovery, however I do believe people should push more health research and new sustainable energy. This bullshit is some "I have no mouth and I must scream" type of experimentation.negative9
u/akhattenEven worse, they managed to replicare the entire brain of a fly and put it into a simulated environment and body. We are speedrunning to altered carbonpositive8
u/CapedCapererThank you for the great post. I think bio-data centers sound like a scam for securing funding from venture capitalists. It's definitely unethical. I see they are trying to wrap this scam in greenwashing which is another tell that the promised technology will be undeliverable. So far they have only managed to create chips that lose at playing DOOM. Just in case, not reproducing and cremation are my defense systems.negative5

u/Aquarius52216Well morals were always in the furthest back or not even in the equation for these ghouls after all. Who the hell cares if we are inventing a literal comically cruel agony matrix if it help nett us 2% growth on the next quarter revenue right?negative1
u/ZwsgvbhmkOkay so I ain't no scientist but I believe it takes more than a few cells on a chip to have a fully concious mind. Our brains are huge and we use a pretty large part of it for everything that makes us "us". There's way more animals that don't have a concept of "self" than there are who do. I think it's very unlikely that we could create something that's concious on such a small scale and it's even less likely that it would be self aware and it's pretty much impossible that it could ever have concepts like "Oh got I'm trapped in have no body i have no mouth". So yeah this probably won't turn into man made horrors beyond human comprehension.neutral1
