u/BisonThunderclapIt's time to stop running and walk right now. The fact that this pain persists outside running means you should take it seriously. You don't get a lot of leeway with ligaments, especially in the knee. Get it checked out by your doctor, because you don't want to fuck your knees up for life because of someone online confidently telling you "it's probably just an overuse injury." Read this part after the doctors: assuming it's nothing serious, this looks like something Id expect out of worn down shoes or ones that aren't right for your gait. Also, with the extra weight you currently have, I'd caution you avoid road and sidewalk running until you're down a bit in weight, that's a lot of pressure to put on cartilage. If you're dying to work out hardcore until then go swimming as a low impact solution for the joints.9
u/Educational-Train-92I'm f32 started running at almost 130kgs and 5' 11. I would recommend weight lifting to build muscle tone, yoga to make sure you're stretching properly I just follow yogabyadriene on youtube at home she has a lot of 30 day courses and seeing a podiatrist to make sure your shoe fit is correct. Also don't go from 0-100 your body needs to build up muscle tone. I have terrible knees though they're both hypermobile and have arthritis in them and since building muscle tone I have no pain with my running. I have a personal trainer and a physiotherapist I see occasionally too.4
u/GritGrinderSeems like where your MCL is. You might need to cool it a bit and work on your running mechanics while caring for your joints and staying hydrated etc2
u/Accomplished-Role835I really would wait a little longer and focus on walking for now. Walking is still a great exercise and I did it a lot while postpartum with all 3 of my babies. In my experience, I’ve found it takes a little while for your body to get back to baseline. You spent nine months with your body stretching to accommodate your baby and it’s going to take some time for your body to readjust. You will be able to run eventually, but for now, give your body some grace. :)2
