u/Legitimate-Play9162I just damn! You really went through it! I am glad there is still hope! I'm wishing you consistent improvement with your health!positive26
u/Kane518I wish I could give you a hug. My goodness, you been through it! Please keep us updated with your progress (if you’re comfortable doing so). Ps- I laughed out loud when I saw that last picture. Keep up the humor and try to stay positive. Your hair will be back before you know it!positive16
u/waldorflover69I understand how TE sucks but I am so glad you are still here. You have a great attitude. I hope you get super healthy and then everything falls back into placepositive15
u/BornTry5923You got me with the Gollum at the end😅 I went through something similar, although to a much lesser degree. Had a double bowel resection in Dec, but one of the anastomoses obstructed, and then 10 days later, perforated. I needed emergency surgery to repair it and clean out my abdomen. Still ended up with sepsis and spent a month in the hospital. I could barely eat and became anemic. Now, 3 months later, my hair is coming out in clumps.neutral9
u/NysanthiaSomething similar happened to this girl named Kianna Chang on TikTok, very sudden and extreme case of TE that presented the same thing as yours. Don't remember what she did in the interim, but it ended up growing back.neutral4
u/stefflpUgh, you have been through the ringer. I'm so sorry. It's mentally daunting. I understand. I actually had a few deficiencies trigger a TE shed in 2025 (which I was usually getting due to hormonal fluctuations). And I had already been on topical minoxidil for 8 years at that time, but they tested oral minoxidil with me (I have pretty low blood pressure so we had to be careful) and it was a success. I also went on dutasteride (DHT blocker) 2x per week and that really nipped the last shed in the but and stopped it. Also I do RLT EOD and microneedling at home 1 x per week, sleep on satin, air dry hair, and only use henna on hair, no chemicals. Growing hair needs an adjunct therapy, so you're doing a good thing looking into other therapies. My last shed triggered AGA which I feel I have been doing preventative work my whole life, since my mom and dad both have baldness. I have a good amount of hair compared to them and I'm working so hard to keep it. Hang in there. Thankfully, there are great wigs, toppers, and halo hair options to carry you through the TE sheds. I am just starting to dapple in them now. I would never do extensions since the pulling, but the halos are great options for me.negative2
u/_nachtkalmar_And here I am throwing myself a pitty party because of my chronic TE. Good grief, you really went through an absolute nightmare. I am so sorry. The hair pales in comparison, in the end, what does it actually matter when you almost lost your life. I would probably buzz cut it if this was me, I don't think I could handle the Gollum look and it would feel more like a decision instead of remnants of hair that once was. But that's just me, you do whatever feels better for you. I am very impressed with your strength, I am sure you are an inspiration to many people, it must shine through in real life as well. I wish you the very best.negative2
u/Kjames0322Sending a hug your way, this is so much to go through. I hope things start looking up for you💛positive1
u/Fuzzy_Register6006Hello! You seem to be an amazing person and definitely one with a strong attitude, congrats on healing and I hope you will recover even more in the future. Your Lashes and brows look amazing though. Have you considered going bald or trying hair toppers? I think you could pull the bald look off really well, considering your full and long lashes/brows. I have never tried hair toppers myself, but halo extensions and they gave me so much confidence, maybe toppers are an alternative in the meantime! Heal well!!positive1
u/Minute-WillowHi, I suffer from chronic TE which all started when I was hospitalized for 3 weeks and got a lot of drugs, 10 years ago. Since then, anxiety attacks trigger it as well. I just recently lost hair again at the end of last year, and had two other big anxiety attacks since, so I’m expecting another loss soon. Removing the trigger is the first step. PRP really helped me. And time. I use serums too but it’s more to have the impression to do something. Unsure if they really do. I was never in your situation with this much loss. Some parts of my scalp were a bit visible. If i was in your situation I would research wearing a wig. I think it would really help with my self esteem. I wish you a fast recovery ❤️‍🩹negative1
u/Apprehensive_Row_161I honestly shaved my head bc the TE was so bad. Mine wasn’t as severe but I understand your painnegative1
u/IonaNinteenEightyA massive hug to you queen xxpositive1
u/Sufficient-Heart-524I’m so sorry you’ve gone through this!!! It sounds like you are well on the mend, thankfully.positive1
u/Material-Somewhere55Eat for nutrients, hoola red light panel, pray mindfully channel growth to that area (i know sounds hooeywa but stress causes disease so wouldn’t relaxation and intentional thought cause healing?), atleast TE grows back, i cant only imagine how you are feeling and i am soooo sorry you were chosen to go thru this. You must be one of gods strongest soldiers.. sending you sooo much healing energy ?neutral1
u/Hideaway31Big hugs to you! Wow that’s a lot, but it sounds like you’re mostly on the other side. TE on top of it all just sucks and it doesn’t help that it’s a long road to regrowth but you should absolutely stay hopeful. It sounds like you have an incredible attitude and sense of humor and that will take you so far ❤️negative1
u/MarsupialPrimary8128Ok, imma be honest. When I saw the first pics, I was horrified and my heart absolutely went out to you. Then I realized you were a woman, even more so then I did think, mad lashes. I thought about how much my own TE ate me inside, but I questioned could I have mentally survived your case? Then I thought, is that really TE? Then I saw the last pic, and I nearly choked on my Dr pepper. But genuinely, I hope you get through it. I love the humour, but I know it's because you've reached a coping mechanism. I've realized at some point I had to let go of possibly never having the same hair. Your story has put my own trial into perspective. Time is healer, even if it's not our scalps. I do recall at the peak of my TE my hair stopped growing everywhere. My lashes, my eyebrows were very patchy. ( I was in like 5% of thick haired people, the kind of stuff you learn when you go through TE) Just overall hairy. Everything was on pause for maybe 5 months. So I think that's a positive sign your lashes and brows are growing. I think my own TE has scarred me for life. I notice everywhere hair. Constantly calibrating what's normal. Then other times. I don't have the time to think about it and I'm glad to be here, people depend on me without or without hair. Your story is a testament to you are meant to be here for a long time. Remember that, and each metamorphosis, is always better, so make sure you see it. Hugs and kisses. Thanks for posting, and keep us updated. 🫂❤️positive1
u/Inside_General3196Fighter with a sense of humor. I wish we were friends. 😆positive1
u/_mxyxI went through a traumatic hospital stay last year that caused me to lose half my hair but it was nothing compared to what you went through! My heart goes out to you, I can only imagine how stressful that was. You are a strong person to get through that and still have a positive attitude. And your lashes look amazing wtf hahapositive1

u/Content-Fish7499man the grizzlies medical staff gotta be working overtime this year, seems like half the roster is getting procedures done at this point they might as well just shut it down and prep for next season, no point grinding through with all these injuriesnegative72
u/sbstoogeThat marks 2 ankle surgeries and 1 elbow for Zach since he first got injured December 6th 2025. Thankfully, the Grizzlies have had franchise superstar, Ty Jerome, to carry the load in these dark times Unrelated fun fact stolen from the Grizz sub: Ja has officially played less games in the last 3 seasons (79) than Chandler Parsons did during his 3 year stint with the Grizzlies (95)negative51
u/theglickyFunnily enough we've had worse injury plagued seasons when trying to be competitive so this could be looked at as normal. Also Edey being an iron man all 4 years at Purdue then having a degenerative ankle after his 3rd game of summer league is on cue.neutral13
u/Pure-Can-9432Damn poor Grizz fans. Hope he can get healthy and stay healthy, he looked fantastic this yearpositive12
u/DoctorBallsJohnsonBeginning to look like clingan was the right pick as a few of us suspectedpositive5
u/SiakamWithTheSlamI really hope Edey gets better and can stay consistently healthy. He was always the best player on the floor at Purdue, and after his high +/- differentials earlier this season, I knew he could be a cornerstone of any franchise going forward. But as history shows, it's tough for the tall men to stay healthy. Medicine has gotten much better, though. Praying that they can take care of my guy.positive3
u/shangalang69jeez bruh its hard not to worry about zach’s futurenegative3
u/preddevils6I’m here to spread substation conspiracy theoriesnegative2
u/CrippledBananaMan this makes me sad. He has so much potential and the games he played this season were phenomenal. I really hope health doesn’t derail his career especially after being an iron man in college. Hoping all the best for himnegative1
u/beefJeRKy-LBWoof but at least it's not another foot surgery. I'm guessing it was bothering him anyway so he's just gonna take care of it while out now.neutral1
u/Just_Here_For_WorkAt this point I'm starting to wonder if our training staff sucks or if the players just aren't taking care of themselves (or a combination). HOW IS BRANDON CLARKE STILL ON THE TEAM? He must have som crazy dirt on somebody in the front office. lol I'm almost convinced that the Grizzlies don't actually care about winning as long as the team exists. ?negative1

u/Unique-Seagull-2370Good on you for being so proactive 👏 💪 🙌 ! The VACOped will indeed be worth every cent you paid for it - I got super lucky to get one fitted in the ER before I even knew they existed 🙏. Fingers crossed you have a good PT who knows what they're doing, because that'll be even more important, particularly if you want to be snowboarding again in such a 'short' time (there are few snowboarders on this sub, just in case you haven't stumbled across them already). Sounds like you have a pretty positive attitude, anyway, which will help you a lot ... it can be a bit of a mental game sometimes. My journaling was helpful for me, therapeutic at the beginning, I'm mostly just tracking milestones now; if you're not one for writing, think about video logs - even if it's not regular, try and track all the mini-wins, milestones and so on ... it'll take little time, no money and may prove to be a help if you have a down point along the rehab journey; it will probably also be fascinating to re-visit in the distant future. Good luck with your recovery, dude!positive3
u/Positive-Pop5595Awesome, sounds like you're off to a good recovery! Looking forward to hearing more. Keep a journal with all recovery things. You'll be glad you did.positive1
u/TheKingLeshenI'm a little further ahead than you, in similar (but less severe) circumstances. It's been 4 weeks since my partial rupture, 0.7cm so I also went non-op at my doctor's recommendation. I'm in the vacoped, still locked at 30 degrees. I'm an athlete too and I'm a little bit concerned about lengthening the tendon so I'm not going to mess with the flex myself, but my physio starts soon so I'm expecting some change then. I hope your recovery goes as quick as expected, I'd be interested to hear how the injections go for you. I'd also like to be back in 6-8 months if possible but I'm not doing anything extra like that as of yet. But I feel like my recovery is going well. My isometrics are feeling pretty solid and I've been walking in the boot without any crutches for over a week now. If you don't have one I recommend getting an Even-Up for your good foot to level yourself out a bit. It makes transitioning into full weight bearing much easier.neutral1

I understand that there is a consensus that it gets worse before it's better, but when did it start to feel better for you? I do stretching and PT in addition but I can barely walk 3000 steps a day. Before my injection my feet were not great but I could walk closer to 5:00 or 6,000 steps easily before feeling significant painnegative2

u/Lumpy-LobstersNice! Question. My entire fiasco was caused by getting an injection for patella tendinitis, and I ended up getting turf toe on my good side during that recovery. Jumped off a step landed on single foot. Turf toe got better, then ended up with Tibialis Posterior Tendon tendinitis 😡. Anyways, the shot in my patella tendon was easily the most painful thing I’d had done in recent memory. What was it like getting injected in foot?negative1

u/KuziziraIm ngl they just doing this to justify a tank season. They had real issues that needed addressing but 100% couldve played through and gotten done in the off season. They decided to just do the off season stuff now because its better to tank rather then push for some post season loss and worse lottery odds where we can land a franchise dude hopefully. Ja is def gone in the off season and I think they gonna have to live with a less then ideal package for him. I wouldn't be surprised if we get rid of BC too purely because hes been too injury prone and the team might not consider him worth it anymore.negative4

u/Junior-Tune-192Majority of men with T2D have this issue. The good news its treatable to almost 75-80% Firstly if your carrying high amounts of body fat, you must lose this. Your diet should be dialled in, more protein focused and less carbs. Thirdly, compound movements with heavy weights at least a few times a week coupled with cardio (max 2 or 3 times a week) Viagra/ sildenafil good for spontaneous stuff but what you want is tadalafil 5mg daily. It will tale about 3 weeks to build up in your system. TRT therapy i would highly recommend especially for any man past 35 years due to the decline and lack of libido etc. Do this and on a few months you will notice your body changing and morning wood returning. Remember patience and consistency is key here, dont go looking for a quick fix. GOOD LUCKneutral2
u/No_Second_4296I don’t have your specific answer but could shed some light on your ED. I’ve had ED for 24 years. It could be simply low testosterone as was my case and you mentioned yours is low. Testosterone replacement is no big deal, back then it included either cream, patches, or injections. The injections are simple, you can do it yourself in your thigh as prescribed by your urologist as to amount and frequency. That worked for a while for me, but then I had to move onto Viagra, Cialis, VED pump, and Trimix in that order. They all worked for years, but then stopped. Lastly, was an inflatable implant, but if that happens, the implant will be rockhard for as long as you want until you deflate it. You could go all night if you wanted to, and my wife cannot tell the difference between my pre-implant penis and now with the implant. Good luck.neutral1

I couldn't do a bodyweight lunge on that leg due to pain and weakness and after PRP, I can now do Bulgarian split squats with heavy weights. Totally fixed the problem for me! My last injections were in both hips for bursitis and it led to a massive flare that eventually led to the diagnosis of HSD, MCAS, and POTS. My POTS doctor suspects that the flare was due to a MCAS reaction to the steroid, but I'm not sure. If I were to ever need another steroid injection, I would definitely discuss it at length with my EDS-informed pain specialist. When my SI joints are subluxing a lot and I can't stabilize them even with lots of physical therapy, I do have good results with a short course of oral steroids to reduce the inflammation. That helps me reap the benefits of the physical therapy. But I try to avoid steroids if possible as I've already been on inhaled corticosteroids for asthma for 20 years and just got diagnosed with early-onset osteopenia (32F). It's definitely not something I take lightly! But everyone reacts differently and, like I said before, some find major relief without major side effects, so you should definitely discuss your concerns with your doctors! Maybe even ask your orthopedic surgeon about the PRP if you haven't yet and see what they say.negative3
u/RestlessfibreSteroids will compromise the integrity of connective tissue so even though they might give temporary pain relief I don't think it's a good idea for hypermobile people. Prp and prolotherapy seem to offer better long term benefits because they improve stability in joints.negative3
u/leavesandlawI’ve done PRP and prolo! I’ve also done steroid shots. I would check and see if your insurance covers PRP because most don’t and I can be pretty expensive.neutral3
u/athlete-student34I have not had PRP, but I’ve had 2 steroid injection in my hip and didn’t really have any benefits from them. Plenty of side effects though…negative2
u/heathbarcrunchhDefinitely prp! It’s helped me a ton. From my understanding steroid shots can in some cases make the pain worse and can degrade connective tissuepositive2
u/Fine_Cryptographer20Was given so many steroids oral and injections for constant pain over the years I almost died. Spent weeks in ICU before the endocrinologist team discovered I have Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency. After just a week on correct meds I was back home. Scary month for me. Ironically now I have to take steroids multiple times a day or I will literally die.negative2
u/ClassofherOwnSteroid injections can give relief, but it’s not a guarantee, won’t address any structural issues creating the pain and can cause long term tissue compromise. PRP and prolo can be highly effective (I’ve had extensive work done for muscle and ligament tears with great success) but it needs to be done by a skilled, experienced practitioner who can appropriately diagnose what is causing the pain. These interventions have become very popular and there are a lot of docs out there haphazardly injecting people without proper diagnostic process or protocols. Also disclaimer that I’m not diagnosed with EDS or hEDS (working on it) but I’m definitely on the hypermobile spectrum and respond to PRP/prolo as someone with hEDS would.negative2

u/AutoModeratorHi Excellent-Buddy-8962! I found some matching key words, Which suggests that you might be asking about the shedding phase. So this may be helpful: -I started using minoxidil and now I'm losing more hair? What's the shedding phase? When used for androgenic alopecia, User should expect a shedding phase that lasts about a month but can continue into the third month. It's important not to panic and stop treatment as this is an expected, And even positive sign. What's happening is that the weaker hairs that are in the 'telogen phase'; A phase of hair growth cycle in which a hair is not growing, Start falling down to be replaced by new 'anagen phase' hairs, The phase in which hair grows at a constant rate. If you discontinue treatment while shedding, The lost hair will be recovered to where it would've been had you never started, Albeit much slower than if you continue using. This is why stopping mid-shedding is not recommended. Only those who have androgenic alopecia will experience a shedding phase. Users who don't have the condition, Or who have lost hair for other reasons, Will not go through the shedding phase. However, Some people with AGA won't experience any shedding, As everyone experiences a different degree of shedding. But generally, The more severe your case, The worse the shedding. Source: r/minoxidil FAQs Hope this was helpful and good luck on your journey! u/AutoModeratorHi Excellent-Buddy-8962! I found some matching key words, Which suggests that you might be asking about the method of application. So this may be helpful: -How do I apply, How much, And how often? Applying Minoxidil is straightforward. It's recommended that you wash the area first to clear your skin of dirt and oils for better absorption, But this isn't necessary. Either way, Make sure your skin is completely dry before you apply minoxidil, Then spray it -or use the dropper- onto the area where you want to see growth, Rub it in your skin then leave it to dry. Avoid washing that area before 3-4 hours. Keep all of this in mind when you want to shower. Twice a day application of 5% strength is recommended for optimal results, Roughly 12 hours apart. Although some prefer using the 2% strength to avoid increased body hair growth & systemic side effects, This is why 2% is generally marketed to women while 5% is marketed to men. Alternatively, You can apply Minoxidil only once a day with less results. More applications will not produce more results, And will only exacerbate side effects. -How much should I apply? Just enough to cover the entire affected area, But not so much that it's soaking wet. Regardless of how much that is & regardless of the recommended dosage on the bottle (which is 1ml; This recommendation doesn't take into account the difference in affected area from one person to another. The only concern here would be if the space of the affected area is large so you end up applying enough to have more systemic side effects. This is nothing to worry about if the side effects aren't problematic for you). Source: r/minoxidil FAQs Hope this was helpful and good luck on your journey! u/RacacooonieWhen I had PRP the injection hurt like a freaking son of a gun - super bad. That pain lasted maybe 10 mins then started to fade and dwindled back to my baseline in around 20 mins. After that I had no increased pain or issues. I rested and avoided impact sports as advised and within a month I began to notice real results: reduction in overall chronic pain and improved ROM. u/AutoModeratorWelcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things: Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions, and do not play doctor What constitutes medical advice? "What is this?" This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice. "What should I do?" This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice. "Should I go to the doctor?" This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice. If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your acne or other medical condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. u/Puzzleheaded_Cap20178 months can feel like a long time, but it’s actually not that unusual for knee irritation like this to linger even without a major tear. Things like synovial inflammation, plica irritation, or bone marrow edema can take quite a while to settle, especially if the knee keeps getting irritated in that same bending range. PRP/PRGF also usually doesn’t work immediately — many people only start noticing improvement after 4–6 weeks as the tissue response builds. That 30–60° pain range you mentioned is interesting because that’s a zone where the patellofemoral joint and surrounding structures take a lot of load while walking. Sometimes targeted rehab around quad control, hip stability, and gait mechanics can help reduce that irritation over time.neutral1
u/Msj301See if you can have the MRI reviewed again for the ACL- you may have Mucoid Degeneration of the ACL. The ACL gives an abormal signal and has a very characteristic "celery stalk" appearance. It basically means the ACL gets synovial fluid within the fibers, swells, and doesn't pass through the intracondylar notch easily which causes pain in full flexion and possibly full extension. I had this, had to do lots of research and find a new doctor who would look into it. Got the scope two weeks ago and feel great so far. All the pain I've had for years is gone.negative1
